MARCO GASTINE
 
A Greek-French filmmaker, Marco Gastine was born in Paris. After a brief career
as an architect in France, he moved to Athens in 1978 and took up filmmaking as a
director, screenwriter and producer. In 2002 he found a production company,
MINIMAL FILMS. He has directed and produced mostly creative documentaries with
social interest as “Marseilles, a Greek profile” (Best Greek Documentary Award
2004), “Themis” (selected at Cannes Festival 2009), or “Demokratia, the Way of the
Cross” (nominated for Prix Europa 2013). He has also produced documentary series for
Greek public TV (“Little Odysseys”, “Docville”) and co-produced several international
documentaries (“The Shadow Fighters”; “Alexander the Great”, “Camus 2013”,
“Unsung Heroes”, etc.).
